Crabtree Watervale Wines Pty Ltd

Crabtree is a small estate situated in the heart of the beautiful Watervale district of the Clare Valley. Robert Crabtree founded the winery in 1981. Today the team is now lead by Winemaker Kerri Thompson with Brendan Pudney and owner/operators Richard Woods and Rasa Fabian making up the small team. The property comprises of 13 hectares of premium handpicked and hand pruned Watervale vineyards and a small modern 100 tonne winery. Crabtree Wines has quietly built an enviable reputation for classic Watervale Riesling recently being awarded three trophies at the 2010 Clare Wine Show. Traditional premium Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are also produced with great care. Innovative and alternative wines such as Zibibbo, Tempranillo and Chardonnay Viognier are also on offer. Visitors are welcomed and invited to sample in the quaint stone Cellar Door built into the historic 1846 stone homestead. Coaches and tours by appointment.
